Our Sustainability Policy

More in Store Marketing Solutions is committed to promoting sustainability. Concern for the environment is integral to our professional activities and the way in which this organization is managed.
We aim to follow and promote good sustainability practices to reduce the environmental impact of our activities and to help our clients and partners do likewise.

Home Based Office
More in Store Marketing Solutions is located in the home of the principal – Melanie Taljaard.  As a home based office there is no commute for Melanie, tremendously reducing her carbon foot print.

Partners and suppliers
More in Store Marketing Solutions considers the actions of their partners and suppliers.  When possible, we work with printers that are part of Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC), a program that is focus on reducing printer impact to the environment.

Reduce, Reuse and Recycle
As far as possible we reuse or recycle office waste such as computer supplies and redundant material. Food materials are composted. The kitchen area is supplied with traditional dishes, cups, glasses etc. and staff are encouraged to use these rather than disposable containers.

Energy Conscious
We reduce energy consumption whenever possible by purchasing energy efficient equipment and turning off lights and equipment when not in use.

Public Transport
We encourage public transport and walking whenever practical. Whenever possible, meetings are conducted by telephone or if this is not possible, through efficient timing of meetings to avoid multiple trips. We support alternative working arrangements such as working from home whenever feasible.

Volunteerism
We encourage voluntary work within and with the communities in which we work. We regularly support Bridgeway Academy and First Baptist Church Dartmouth with financial and volunteer support, and whenever possible we aid other agencies that request our support.

Apprenticeships and mentorship opportunities: More in Store Marketing Solutions hires co-op students from local universities such as Mount Saint Vincent University, and Dalhousie, and is always open to partnerships or opportunities with other local academic or vocational institutions.

Orientation and training: All employees who are hired to either full or part-time positions are made aware of More in Store Marketing Solutions policies practices toward sustainability.
