Inbound Marketing and Social Media Collide

What are you social media efforts doing for your business?  Do they generate a little webinbound marketing agency halifax traffic, drive online sales, provide a venue to connect with customers or maybe you question the value of your efforts all together.

As a part of a larger Inbound Marketing strategy I manage the social media efforts for many Halifax companies. A successful inbound marketing campaign relies on the right components: content, search engine marketing, and social media, and the right tools that allow you to execute integrated inbound marketing campaigns and track effectiveness right to the number of inquires, sales, or even media stories generated.  Yes, I said media stories generated.  Wouldn’t it be great if your latest tweet landed you on the evening news?  Well that was my client’s reality last week thanks to a well through out Inbound Marketing and Social Media strategy.

Today a great deal of my work is focuses on Inbound Marketing – because it is effective and easy to track.  While I love Inbound Marketing and using Hubspot to realize amazing Inbound Marketing programs for my own business and my clients’, publicity still plays an important role in my marketing campaigns.

My clients have amazing stories to tell, and valuable education to share. Sometimes their story is so second nature; they don’t even see the media opportunity. I help clients with all aspects of putting their story in the spotlight.  And increasingly, social media is key in that process.  Like every other target audience, journalists are hard to reach by phone, but most of them love Twitter.

The right social media strategy should consider different target audiences – the list of audiences will be unique to your own business, but could include: current customers, past customers, investors and media.  Social media is an amazing tool to build a relationship with media professionals.  Serve up story ideas right to their Twitter feed and suddenly your boss we’ll see the value of your social media strategy.

Do you have a social media strategy that is focused on the right audiences and the right goals for your business?  Does your social media strategy support your media efforts?
